Here you will find some activities to help you keep your little ones entertained for a few hours with all the beautiful spots and landmarks within the city of Alicante!

Plaza de Luceros

Considered the most emblematic plaza in Alicante, this spot is a great way to start your visit and enjoy a nice stroll with the kids admiring the beautiful atmosphere and architecture typical of this side of Spain. This square is the start of the avenue “Doctor Gadea”, a very nice path that goes through some of the city’s most important buildings and landmarks.

Explanada de España

It translates to “Spain’s esplanade” and is a wide avenue, great to walk by if you have a stroller and it’s parallel to the port. Surrounded by palm trees, this street is very typical in Sapin – you can find street artists, stands with handcrafted items and historical buildings.

Puerto de Alicante

As Alicante is part of the Mediterranean coastline, the port is another must to see when travelling to this city. There are many small boats from the fishermen of the area and lots of different restaurants and cafes with nice terraces to enjoy some tasty tapas and a refreshing cold beverage.

Barrio de Santa Cruz

When visiting Alicante, you can’t miss out on the beautiful neighbourhood of Saint Cross. Very popular for both locals and tourists thanks to its colourful houses with traditional Spanish details. There are many local restaurants within its streets to try some great food from Valencia and Spain, such as Las Brasas de San Miguel or La Crispeta.

Mercado Central

Built in 1911, this market is frequented by locals and is full of fresh fruit, fish and meat; all from the Mediterranean. There is an area in the market known as “Market’s Square” with several terraces and is known to be where locals spend the afternoon enjoying a nice cold beverage.

Castillo de Santa Bárbara

Located on top of a hill, this spot and castle is a wonderful place to visit with your family to admire the sunset from a privileged point of view and to see one of the most beautiful landscapes in the city. You can also get inside the castle and admire the history of the building built at the end of the IX century.

Playa del Postiguet

What better way to spend your morning with the kids than in Postiguet’s beach, a tranquil and calm-water beach in Alicante. It’s very long and not far from the city making it a family-friendly spot to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea and Sun.

Isla de Tabarca

One of the most beautiful places to visit within Alicante, take a boat and easily get to Tabarca’s island. A very small paradise where you can find restaurants with incredible chefs that make the best paella. There is a lighthouse and tower as well and, with the bright blue sea, the landscape is definitely one you won’t forget!
