We researched the best spots around the area of Benidorm for you, so during your trip you can focus on having the best time!

Guadalest

Up north, 30-minutes away by car, you can find this charming town surrounded by nature and an isolating atmosphere; the most visited one in Alicante and for a reason!

  • Visit the Castillo de San José (Saint Joseph’s Castle), the most important monument of the village.
  • Situated right on top of a cliff, the views from Guadalest are magical so we recommend you to go to Mirador del Embalse de Guadalest, one of the viewers of the village to take some family pictures.

Altea

This town is known by different names such as Cúpula del Mediterráneo (Mediterranean’s Dome) or Perla de la Costa Blanca (Pearl of the White Coast). It’s definitely worth visiting during your family trip, it has a unique magic you will only find within its streets.

  • Visit the Casco Antiguo (Historic neighbourhood) and walk around its white streets and charming local lifestyle.
  • There is also Mirador Blanco, a beautiful viewer to admire one of the most gorgeous landscapes from Altea.
  • Of course, spending a bit at some of its beaches is a must during the Summer. Try Playa de Mascarat or Playa de la Roda for some family friendly and calm-water ones.

Calpe

It’s quite a big town, but still holds that unique Mediterranean charm and welcoming atmosphere.

  • Admire the colourful and charming streets of Plaza de la Villa, with beautiful mosaics.
  • There is a wonderful street market as well where you can find handcrafted items, a great way to get some souvenirs!
  • We love Baños de la Reina as well when visiting Calpe, the name translates to “Queen’s Bathroom” a roman archaeological deposit within Playa del Bol.

Villajoyosa

Only a 20-minutes ride to the west from Benidorm, you can find this lovely town.

  • The town is famous for its colour painted houses, each with a bright and saturated colour – making the coastline of the town look like a fairy-tale
  • Visit the pendant houses as well, located by the Amadorio river, a charming walk through some of the most beautiful houses in the town.

Algar Waterfalls

Only accessible if you have your own or rented car, but definitely worth visiting for the nicest family experience surrounded by nature. They are a continuous number of waterfalls that end in natural fountains or pools, making the most beautiful view and a great excursion to spend some quality time with your loved ones.
