How to move around Granada easily

Published April 24 2023

Granada is a small city meant to be admired by foot and its sightseeing spots are quite closer to each other, making it easy to walk from one to another. Regardless, you may want to use its public transportation on a couple of occasions. That’s why we explain all you need to know to move around the city easily.

The different types of cards for you

The different types of cards and prices depend if you buy a rechargeable card or not. The main, and within the city the only, transport in Granada is the bus. This are the different tickets you may need to know about:

  • Billete Ordinario, which is a single individual ticket that costs 1.40€.
  • Bus Búho, is the night bus which costs a bit more: 1.50€, but the ticket is the same.
  • Bono 5, 10 or 20 euros: in case you are getting the rechargeable card called Credibus, these are the 3 options you have which already indicate the amount of money you will be spending. If you are planning to use the bus several times and are staying for a considerable amount of time, these tickets might be a better choice for you.

Important things you should know

  • You have 1 hour once you use your Billete Ordinario or Credibus ticket to make any transhipment within different buses. It usually takes way less time to make any type of transhipment, but it’s always good to have it in mind!
  • Take into consideration that if you have bought another ticket that’s not Billete Ordinario or Credibus, you will have to pay for the transhipments.
  • There are apps and websites that can guide you through all public transportation options, times and schedules! Our personal favourite is citymapper. You can select the transport you want or your destination and easily check how to get there through its interactive map.
  • Kids under 4 years old don’t have to pay to use the public transportation.
  • If you forgot to buy your ticket or you prefer not to get one, you can still take the bus and pay to the driver in cash (they do not accept credit cards).
